we left JB even later on sunday. Around 12. and we reached Singapore around 1 and stopped by a food court for lunch. the sky was starting to get dark and thunders were making standing ovations. by the time we reached the entrance of Universal Studios, it started to rain. yes, i was pissed. with the rain, with everyone. and then mom had to go to the toilet. she actually walked all the way around the complex outside of the theme park to find one so while waiting for her (because we can't go in yet without her passport and credit card coz she purchased the tickets online), we took photos. and i whined some more because there's a toilet just at the entrance of the park. and the Jurrasic Park soundtrack they're blasting for ambiance is not helping.

finally, we got in and it was already 3pm. half a day wasted. and to make me even more an emobitch, we found out that the attractions, except for Hollywood which is at the entrance, only opens till 7. so we have about 4 hours to get on and see everything. i can't stay pissed because i did not pay for it. so i shut up. or at least tried to. and failed.
Instead of going to the left, towards the first attraction, which is Madagascar, we tried the right, towards New York, thinking there's a lot more other exciting adventures on that part of the park. we were right. first we went for the sound stage where we were supposed to experience a level 5 hurricane in new york. and then we got out and took photos in New York. and then arwen pooped. i carried extra plastic bags with me in singapore in case Arwen poops because, this is singapore. but at the toilets in Universal Studios, the toilet attendants actually provided us with plastic bags for poopy diapers.

after that, we passed Battlestar Gallactica but they're still working on the rides. and then we went to Egypt (The Mummy) and got on one of the best indoor roller coasters i've ever got on. it was bloody fast and scary. but i loved it. ayis did not get on it because he suddenly had to 'pee'. Good thing, because if he had not gone out to 'pee' we wouldnt even know about the last theatrical stunt show of Waterworld for the day. Since mom decided to take care of Arwen while we got on the Mummy ride, we pushed mama to try it once we survived it.

And then we rushed towards the Waterworld show. We enjoyed it but Arwen did not because things were blowing up and fires burning everywhere and people purposely falling from high towers into the water. Luckily the show was loud so i can totally ignore her cries. I think she got really scared that she shut down and went to sleep. Yup, all through the explosions and loudness and all. All those times that we practiced her to sleep with the TV on and blasting really paid of.

Got out of Waterworld and returned back to Jurassic Park that we skipped earlier. They wanted to get on the rides but the lines were impossible so we skipped it again. Next stop, Far Far Away. Arwen was up by the time we got there and we went for the Shrek 4D show. Thought Arwen would like it, but she did not. so after i got sprayed by sneezes and jerked around in my seat a couple of times, we walked out. i let her play around and touch things at the novelty store and waited for everyone else to finish with their show. Everyone came out and continued shopping, buying drinks and things like t-shirts and shrek ears and marshmallows.

And then everyone else wanted to get on one of the roller coasters in Far Far Away but since Arwen's not tall enough, i stayed with her outside. And then we got out and into Madagascar. This was when i realized that the world works in perfect wonder because if it wasnt for the delay and dilly dally and things that fell into place, we would not have bumped into Puss in Boots with his 4 bodyguards. We pushed them into taking a few photos with him. Arwen loved it because Donkey & Puss in Boots (or 'Pucci-Tat') are the only creatures from Shrek that she recognizes. After that, we took Arwen for a Madagascar carousel ride, twice. Kesian dia, that was the only ride that she could get on and enjoyed.

Finally back to Hollywood. and what is there left to do but shop for touristy merchandises? The entire stretch of Hollywood is lined with retail stores and while everyone dispersed towards their own preferred stores, i was left with arwen, the stroller, bags of souvenirs and the camera bag. so i let arwen roam free and be a kid. delightfully, she ran around within the secure radius of my view and climbed up lamp posts and laid down on the street and walkways and pavements. ayis bought me a 'best actress' cushion for office, only because he can't find one that's written "diva" or "drama queen". he also bought a pairing 'best actor' cushion for the car. it feels bad to separate them so i think i'm gonna put them together on our bed.

and then we went for dinner at Mel's, a burger diner in the theme park. it's halal and according to my mom's friend, singaporeans are serious about their halal certification (unlike in Malaysia) so when you see one, you can be confident that it is halal. after dinner, we went out and took more pictures until the security guards had to shoo us out coz they were already closing. still, we took our time and took more photos. we were practically the last people to get out of the place. seriously. as my uncle stepped out, they closed the gates behind him. normally, i'd get nervous with closing places. like if i'm in a shopping complex, or store, and i hear grills are being pulled down, i get all anxious and walk even faster to get out of the place because the thought that i'd be stuck alone in a complex scares the shit out of me.

I cant believe we managed to go around the entire theme park within just 4 hours, and still had time to spare for shopping and photos. Fine, we skipped a few but i think we'll be coming back soon. I still want to try out the Battlestar Gallactica rides. Hopefully they'll be fully operational come December.
