wishlist part deux

wishlist2

  1. Photoshop Keyboard Shortcut Skin. Not sure if this will make it easy, but damn wouldn't it be cool to have?
  2. Twelve South's BookBook Case for the Macbook. Saw these at Machine in Pavilion but bought something else. And then i got home and regretted not getting the BookBook. i just love saying it, BookBook. Got it! Thank you for the surprise, Mama!
  3. If not the Kartell Ghost Chair, i'd love to have a replica of the Panton Chair. thank you husband!!
  4. Another item from Soak Republic i'd love to have is this bracelet.
  5. An ampersand necklace. I'm starting a new addiction, collecting ampersands. it all started with this. Etsy's gonna be seeing a lot of me.
  6. Christopher Moore's other new book, Fool. bought it and currently enjoying it.
  7. For the Mraz fanatic in me, i'd kill to have a copy of his polaroid book, A Thousand Things.
  8. one of the most awesomest gifts i've received for this year. thank you, ilochi fadz!
  9. And for Arwen, i still can't decide whether to go for the juicebox camera or the biscuit camera. or both. i want her to start developing a love for capturing moments and a lo-fi digital lomo seems like a good way to start, right? Ayis got this instead
Can't promise this will be the last of it.

year end wish list : you can feel it coming!

yeah i know, i've been away too long. sorry about that. as some of you might know, i just started a new job with Pos Malaysia as ... ok, honestly, i don't know what i am yet because right now i'm doing pretty much of whatever that's thrown at me. sometimes i'll be translating and writing stuff, sometimes i'll help designing stuff. i don't mind it really, because everyone there multitasks and they do not berkira if they're doing what they're not paid to do.

it's been quite hectic with things moving way too fast for me to catch up. As i came on board, the team was already in the middle of preparing for the launch of our new product, PostMe.com.my, a new online shopping portal. check it out! (sorry. obligatory shout out). i will not go on much detail about my new job for fear it may bore you. as is my life, but all i can say is that, i'm glad i'm part of a good, dynamic team again. it feels good.

anyway, it's that time of the year again. my birthday is coming up this month, so, you know what to expect from me right about now -- a roundup of the things i don't mind getting. so if there's any secret santas, or if you're my husband, pay attention please. heh. i'm not at all demanding, i only have 16 stuff in my list.

for now.

Here's part 1 :

5226735834_edaefc8633_b copy

  1. i have a few shoulder bags but i do not have a black one. impossible, right? yeah. so i kinda like this one from Zara. the husband started browsing through some of the stuff from my wishlist the next day this post was up. isn't he the most awesome? he got me a bag from zara, not the one on my wishlist though. a better one that can actually fit my macbook or his iPad. ilochi
  2. i went to Marks & Spencer the other day to look for pants and my husband left me alone, which was a bad move on his part because naturally, as any other woman would be, i went wandering around not looking for pants and fell in love with this black cage shoe.
  3. I need another bottle of Benetint. mine's about to run out. i think it's really amazing that a bottle can last almost 3 years! Thank YOU mama! ilochi
  4. I collect Christoper Moore's books. And i'm already missing out of a couple of his new books, like this one, Bite Me. have it!
  5. While we're on the subject of books, i'd love to read through Heather Armstrong of Dooce's book, It Sucked and then I Cried. I've been following her since her first born, Leta was just a baby, and i know i'm gonna love her book. Not sure if i can find this book here, though. had to order them from Amazon and since Falie has an account already, got him to get it from me and he refused to take my money. Thanks, falie, ilochi!
  6. I still want a copycat cheap chic of the Kartell Ghost Chair.
  7. I was browsing through Soak Republic the other day. I don't know why i do that to myself. i love pain, i guess. the pain of at first not really wanting anything and just being content with life and all that i have and then put myself into trouble when i went looking for it and now having sleepless nights of wanting something so much. I'm now dreaming about a couple of stuff from Soak Republic, one being this cute antique looking oldskool FM2 pendant and chain. the silver one goes so well paired with my camera charm bracelet.
  8. I know, this is a bit lavish on the wishlist this year, but with so much i can do with the DKNY cozy, the dozen of versatile and stylish way to wear it, makes it worth it, don't you think? i don't own any couture designer brands when it comes to clothing, accessories and makeup, but i will aspire (and pray really hard) to get this one!

Ok. That's the first list. I'm still collecting my wishes. Heh.

p/s : arwen's newsletter is being drafted. sorry for the delay, but stay tuned.

i want : any one of these stylo camera bags

this will probably be the only time that i'll post about bags, and make me sound like a typical woman (but with a twist, because these are unlike any typical bag-whore bags). bare with me for a few minutes, okay? i promise, this will end sooner than you can say, "LISHA IS A SELL-OUT!"

since the last post where i posted my wishlist on the gorgeous epiphanie camera bag, i've been looking for other trendy, multipurpose, lady-like camera bags and found a few. of course, none of them sold here, and all of them are expensive, but yeah whatever, they'll just stay in my wishlist until whenever.

here are some of the chic camera bags i'm looking at right now :

1. the *emera tote camera bag comes in canvas / quilted form and it's so designer insipired. one kinda looks like a berkin (ok maybe that's a little far-fetched) and the quilted one looks like a chanel. It seems so spacious, and it can also fit the macbook, wallet and makeup bag, and a few diapers in there as well. but the husband doesnt seem to like me carrying a shoulder or handbag bag because of the rampant news about mugging these days. he's not paranoid, just extra cautious. if he's really is that paranoid, i think i'd just be carrying a men's wallet, phone and a pepper spray in my pockets.

2. The Kelly Moore bags (the ones i'm eying are the Cranberry Croc classic and the Heather Grey B-Hobo bags) are much more my style and the husband would totally agree on this if i were to purchase it, let's say for my own birthday gift?

check out the awesome promo video!

3. i'm also eying on some of the Jill-E bags, but they're really pricey. (Jill-e also has a clutch for point-and-shoots. very cute)

4. Jo Totes have some pretty amazing collection too.

5. Shoot Sac is a really good option for me who's highly likely found to fumble around herself to look and change lenses. and plus, it's a sling / messenger bag type, very good for clumsy old me.

6. Mimi DSLR bags are the rage in the scrapbooking community. And i think of all the bags above, Mimi bags are much more affordable in my case.

7. Theit Bag : the waitlist for it can circle the earth twice. but it's really nice, right? *sigh*

8. out of all, i think the Acme Made dSLR Bowler Bag is the quirkiest. Not really me for me though but just to put it in the list in case you want it in your wishlist. just helping out a sister. heh.

9. Built NY camera bag is not as girly as the rest but the most important thing is that i doesn't look as the typical camera bag out there.

10. the most expensive (500 Euro a pop!) and vintage looking one, leicatime bag (actually kinda looks like my dad's old camera bag that my brother is using now).

11. ETSY also have a list of really unique and nice looking, and (inexpensive if you know how to find them) dSLR bags such as these :

12. Etsy's also the place to find rare vintage camera bags such as these :

i know you want one too. even if i do not own a dSLR, i might just get the bag first as to push me to get the camera later. heh.

i want : an ephiphanie

i don't really care much about bags, but as i was catching up on dooce just now, she introduced the really stylish Epiphanie camera bag by Malie Wilson for women. good riddance to all the bulky manly camera bags that's not at all flattering. the Epiphanie looks so versatile and spacious that it can be worn as a normal slingbag or a mommy bag. or all at once. i don't mind having the black Lola. though the red one looks so yummeh, but i'm not liking the lavender interior lining. i like the Ginger too. i don't think i can afford them though, but it'd be awesome to have!

photogeek wishlist

was browsing through photojojo's newsletter just this minute and instantly, i added more stuff in my ever-growing, hard-to-fulfill wishlist. like i need another, right? well, i kinda do. you'll see why.

you've heard of wishful thinking, right? this is wishful blogging. sometimes my wish comes true whether i fulfill it myself or somebody be my santa. i hope this is one of those times.

ZOOMLENS MUG!!! NOTHING I'VE SEEN HAS GOT ME THIS EXCITED SINCE THE FIRST TIME I SAW A PENIS!

ok, that's all kinds of wrong because the first penis i saw was my brother's when he was a baby. but heck man, i'm lost for words after i knew that this camera lens mug exists! except for I WANT! I WANT! I WANT! photogeekery awesomeness level 10 plus 5 exclamation marks! what's more, it's a canon!

shipping to Malaysia for one mug costs RM16. for multiple products is RM20 so far. so i'm thinking that i should get a few to save up on shipping cost. thinking about getting two for kudegraphy, and one for falie, and of course, one for me. a colleague wants in too. anybody else?

*i've already sortta pictured in my head how my brother the photographer accidentally packed this lens mug in his gear bag instead of the real lens. can you imagine the panic that unfolds?*

*but oh shit. i can't buy these this month because we're going to watch ELMO live.

looking for a (replica) designer chair is akin to searching for the meaning of life

since i bought the macbook, and falie has gotten unifi installed, setting my my little SOHO in our room is only the natural decision. it's practically where we live most of the time. thing is though, the room has a lot of furniture :

a queen sized bed, a cot that has turned into arwen's daybed in the day and co-sleeper by night, a dressing table, a 3-door wardrobe, a cabinet storing mostly our unopened wedding gifts (that await a new home when or if we ever get one), two side tables which we've stacked on top of one another and store arwen's diapers, arwen's chest of drawers for all her clothes, a rack for more stuff, a trolly for arwen's milk-making stuff, a TV, a glass cabinet for ayis' collectibles like his collection of miniature katana, more samurai paraphernalia, gundam robots, little star wars whatevers, and also some Aliens. seriously. i didnt even wanna look at them when i was pregnant. we've got 2 carpets on either side of the bed, and more stuff under the bed, out of sight out of mind.

yes, our room is pretty 'semak'. but it's cozy, i like it. i dont mind a little makeover however like having lesser shit in the mix, but i think i'd save all that trouble for our hypothetical home.

after a few days working on the bed (i know it's bad), and sometimes, working on arwen's little knee-high table, i set up my work area on our dressing table. after hitting my head a few times against the wall for not coming up with the idea sooner. and it's nice, coz i can still watch the TV from the reflection on the dressing table's mirror.

unfortunately though, i do not have a nice and comfortable chair for my work area. so right now i'm using a one seater sofa that my mom was gonna throw away. it's comfortable, yes. but it's too heavy and bulky and doesnt have the right height. so my arms are opened like buffalo wings whenever i'm doing my work. it's straining. and having fat-weighted wings doesnt help much.

so i went to cavenzi looking for a pretty yet cheap option for a side chair. found one. it's covered with black velvet and engraved with greyish damask design. i love it. however, it costs RM300. for one chair. that's ridiculous, man. i went to cavenzi coz i thought it'd be cheap. so the search continues. i browsed through ikea catalog and didnt find one that i like.

now, next item in my wishlist, im looking for something like the famous Kartell Louis Ghost Armchair. i saw some a few months ago, used as decor in a restaurant at Wangsawalk Mall. yes yo! like for actual people to sit on and dine and have kids jump up and down on. i almost cried when my kid did that. so i figured, there must be a cheap replica of that chair, right?

the closest i could find was at homelife, and they brand it as Angel Chair. but heck man, it's going at RM700 for one. that's much too much for me.

although the black one makes me REALLY want to have it, regardless the crazy price tag.

mind blowing, right? always have a thing for black and white.

so, internet, if you have any idea where i could get a lookalike for a fraction of the price, please let me know. thanks.
