weekend of weddings / the things that annoy me

3 weddings, just for one person (well, two if you count the groom), the whole three-day weekend. i'll be going back to JB for my cousin's wedding with my parents, my brother Falie and also of course, Arwen. Ayis can't come because he's got a big briefing tomorrow.

i kinda heard that my cousin will probably be using black and silver/white as her theme color. MY THEME COLOR. if she is, i swear, and i even told my mom this, that i'll make my muka ketat face the whole weekend so help me god. i don't mind if anybody else (read : strangers) uses that colour scheme, but when family, ones who were there at my wedding copies the idea, i mean that's just bloody annoying. i'm angry because when her sister got married some 5-7 years ago, she took my idea to have my fantasy wedding in a lilac and cream theme (my fault because i said it out loud. i didnt even have a boyfriend back then pun)

well, we'll see how the weekend turns out. i'll post my muka ketat face once i get back to work. heh.

the things that annoy me

is LOL now a practicable way of laughing? i'm not talking ym / html code / internet laughing, i'm talking physical laughing like "HAHAHHAHA!". seriously, i have told a joke that was replied with a "LOL!". people actually say "LOL" to things they find really funny? oh man, it would really suck if you're a stand up comedian to these "LOL" type of audiences. can't people just laugh sincerely anymore?

the things that annoy me

mommies who blog / caption as the third person, i.e. their baby(ies) or child.

for example :

"Hi uncles and aunties! my name is !Xiloxi! and i am just a couple of weeks old, so forgive me if i sound a bit childish! i just wanted to tell you that it wasnt fun at all to shoot myself out of mommy. but hey! i'm here now and shit, this world is a scary place but i'm sure i'll get used to it in no time. okthnksbye. see you again, maybe next time i'll tell you about my poop."

i know some of the mommies on my blog list do this and they seem to think that it's cute to make it seem like their child is speaking personally to their readers. it's bad enough that they'd sometimes use baby-blabbers to their readers, now their child is talking directly to us? i know that it's your blog and you have the perogative and right to do whatever you want with it, therefore i am terribily sorry if i offend you with my humble opinion.

seriously mommies, we know that your child doesnt know how to talk yet (unless your child is a miracle baby : A Born Genius ... then good on ya!) so you think it's okay to give your child a voice by writing on their behalf? like as if you can read their minds and say what they're thinking? OMG! if you're truly a baby mind reader*, then please come over to my house because you need to help me tell my daughter to stop shitting while she's eating.

maybe we come from diffrent school of thoughts, but i strongly believe in giving my child her own voice, and let her speak and stand up for herself when the time comes, not before. she doesnt need anyone, not even her own mother, putting words into her mouth.

but that's just what i think.

* nooo i didnt google 'baby mind reader' to find if there's such thing in the world, i am actually in the midst of reading his book.

love shag

yesterday, i watched Rita Rocks while having TV dinner and waiting for Amazing Race to start. Rita Rocks is my new current favourite comedy show, it's ranked no. 2 after How I Met Your Mother (which reminds me, i need to download for updates).

anyway, during Rita's jam session with her buddies, they sang Love Shack. and guess what, the genius people at Star World (or perhaps Astro?) decided that Shack is a dirty word and they bleeped it out. so the song became "love __ / baby, love __ /love __ baby love __". actually, the whole song is dirty and they should've just cut the whole singing scene. but seriously, since when Shack is an explicit word? or perhaps they've mistaken it as Shag? innocent mistake. silly, but innocent.

(more of) the things that annoy me

when i am stressed, i tend to talk more. i eat more. i swear more. i laugh more. i do more crazier things than what i normally do, like eat a lot more. and when i eat more, i get a bit hyper. and loud. and when i feel like the sugar is slowly seeping out of my system, i look for more sugary stuff to keep the level of insanity up. i also tend to laugh at other's fuckeries because they fuck up more when they're stressed out.

everyone in the office is wondering if i'd truly lost it. somebody even asked whether i was on ice.

another thing that annoys me is how annoyingly catchy britney spears' songs are. damn it!

the things that annoy me

all those damn personality quizzes on that damn facebook

the things that annoy me

telling me that my baby looks like neither me nor my husband.

one time a few months ago, there was this girl in my husband's facebook friends list. i don't know her. one of my husband's old friends i suppose. whatever. i am not the jealous type, i didnt even make a peep even when the girl keeps on replying and commenting on everything my husband posted on facebook - status updates, pictures, whatever. i didnt even mind. i didnt go all gung-ho and nazi on my husband's page and shout out "STAY AWAY FROM MY HUSBAND, BITCH!". nope. not a peep. you see, i can make a huge noise about Earth Hour and Boycotts but i kept quite about this girl. that's how much i didnt care about it. that's how much i rock.

one day, this girl commented that my baby is gorgeous. GORGEOUS, LIKE HER. i was like WTF pompuan ni apasal? aku yang penat mengandung, beranak, berpantang, berjaga malam semua ... dia kata anak aku gojes macam dia? dia dahlah tak comel, ok. tolong lah.

annoyed me to hell. but still, i didnt make noise on my husband's page and throw random cuss words at her. i didnt know her. maybe she only intended it as a joke. maybe she thinks i never check out my husband's facebook page. maybe she's just that vain and stupid i have to forgive her because it's politically incorrect to bully the mentally challenged.

but it's ok now. she has long since took her name off my husband's friends list because my husband told her off to act her age. yupp. she un-friended herself because my husband told her she's immature. go figure.

my husband rocks!

on the opposite note : the thing that i love most is when people say my baby looks like me, not the daddy. i think that's the best compliment anybody can give to mothers. it's just something every mom is proud out. i mean, she made the baby, so it's only respectful to give her full credit for all her hard work. am i right, mommies?

the things that annoy me

when people, typically mothers, sometimes even dads, upon hearing the baby cries non-stop for 20 minutes, voluntarily suggests (more like rhetorically implying that i am an unfit mother and that i don't know shit) that the baby is hungry and maybe the baby wants milk.

seriously, don't you think that'd be the first thing i try the moment i hear the baby cries? and after that, i check its diaper and change it even when it's not even wet? i know you have been there many times before and thus you're all-knowing. this is my first child, i get it, but it's not like i've only been at it for 6 hours. cut me some slack, would you please?

sometimes, i'll just force the bottle into the baby's mouth just to spite them, you know?

the things that annoy me

i thought i was the only one who'd randomly come up with random made-up words (just in the blog and in everyday speech. not professionally). here's part of the brief from a client who wants us to design a packaging label for their products that are meant for the US market.

"the concept has to be eyes catch, international standard design, authentic traditional, tempting, nutritiousness"

see lah what i have to deal with on a daily basis?

the things that annoy me

the mystery of the missing socks.

EVERY TIME mom or i sit down and fold clothes, almost indefinitely there'll be singled out socks. the most annoying part is that i fell sorry for them.

the things that annoy me

watching malay dramas where the casts sit at the table for a meal at home and they're using forks and spoons to eat rice with the lauk and all. if the set is in a kampung house, then they'd eat with their fingers, but when the set is in a concrete house, they suddenly become white people. i know the director is trying to make it seem like they have class with proper table etiquette and all ... but honestly, do malays really eat malay food like that? it's so unnatural. and furthermore, their table etiquette aren't so proper pun. swinging the utensils around when they talk while eating, talking with their mouths full, not holding the utensils properly, chewing noisily ... and the list is endless.

on second thought, let me rephrase this statement.

one of the things that annoy me is watching malay dramas. period.

the things that annoy me

ppl hu wrtes lk ths. (i admit. i was guilty of it once. but i know better now)
PeOpLe WhO wRiTes LiKe ThIs.
and especially,
people who writes like this.

the things that annoy me

clients asking silly questions like "when you guys came up with this concept, was it a conscious decision?" WTF? "no. actually we were pretty high on alcohol and drunk on weed when we did this. that's about as much as we can remember anyway. kthnxbye."

the things that annoy me

so, today after taking arwen to get her 5-month injection (this time i remembered, yay!), we went to babyjaya in uptown for her bibs with teethers. we bought 3 of those. and then we found a nuby teether cloth toy at Jusco AU2 and got her that as well. not counting two teether blankies that are on their way here - i think we got the cloth-teether thing covered.

but she still prefers her normal, everyday blanket.

agak annoyed jugak ni.

the things that annoy me

men who are way too emotional. emotional is supposed to be a girl's thing. it's not appropriate to be worn by men. even worse is when they mix emo with ego. haih!

things that annoy me

telling me that you're fat like me when you're about as thin as a memory card. i hate it when people do this, you know, trying to make themselves feel good by condemning on others' misfortunes? you know what, at least, i can do something about fat. unfortunately, you cannot do anything about ugly.

huh?

i dont understand how some people can loathe somebody to the core one time and suddenly love them to pieces the next. i really dont get it. i got it when i was young and none-the-wiser. but now that i'm almost 30, and a mother .... i just dont get it. im slapping myself left and right and pinching my cheeks to confirm that i wasnt seeing things.

one day you're all bitching and telling other people how much that person sucked and you hate everything about them right down to the hair in their nose and you vow to sever all ties and swear that you don't want anything to do that other person ever again. like, forever. and all of a sudden you're caught hugging it out and be all 'yes, we're the bestest friends in the world ever!'. what the fuck man. macam budak kecik!

is it me, or is everybody in this world a fake?

things that annoy me

people wearing neck wrap / scarf like this. IN MALAYSIA. seriously, tak panas ke?

besides, it looks like you're wearing an adult bib. are you really that messy of an eater, or lost all the sensory on you lips that you drool as much as my 3 and a half month old daughter that you need to wrap a convenient cloth around your neck to wipe your mess?

my husband wears this sometimes, but only when he's out paintballing to protect from getting hit on the neck. (definitely NOT in front of me). but it's ok, it's with a purpose. but for people to do it in the name of 'fashion'? seriously?

emo ever after

i write this only because i just can't leave things the fuck alone.

i live for cheap thrills. i get my kick looking at kittens playing, or sadistically waiting on for an accident to happen during a car / bike race, getting lost clicking the many hyperlinks on Wikipedia until i forget the actual reason why i consulted it for facts in the first place, reading other people's blog and actually relate to what they're writing about and knowing, i'm not alone.

but i dont go around stealing stuff from people. especially their lives.

shila, applaud you for having guts to come out and making your blog public again despite the consequences that you know will follow. i dont think i can do it, if i were you. and also for apologizing 10 million hundred times. but please, stop what you're doing. stop potraying yourself as the victim here. BECAUSE I AM THE VICTIM. here, i thought my blog was as whiny as it gets. guess i've been roadkilled. the way you twist and turn your words and make it about you? pandai pun. why can't you use that talent in writing your blog instead of copypasting other people's?

i am curious what keyword you googled for that made you somehow 'stumbled' upon my blog? oh, i think i know. it was 'lisha' wasn't it? your keyword?

btw, the world doesn't call it plagiarism. THE DICTIONARY DOES. people told me (yang try nak subdue my rage je lah) that i should take it as a form of flattery. hey, fuck me once, shame on you. fuck me that many times? man, i should be getting paid from all that fucking, man! even whores get paid. gila hina, ok? and i should take it with a pinch of salt. yeah, a pinch of salt and rub it on a mouth ulcer maybe.

and so you'd want you kid to see that you're made out of sugar and spice and everything nice? YOU'RE SO FAKE LAH WOMAN! your kid should know that you're a liar. in fact, your readers should see it that way too. im a bit gobsmacked to read the comments they gave you. how they whined begged for you to make your blog public again, and cheered you on to continue writing coz they love you and apparently like your shit? even when they know that you weren't the one who wrote it? is that how you value your loyal readers? by lying to them? if i was your reader, i'd feel atrociously disgusted and betrayed from all that bullshit you pulled.

maybe some of you would see me whining on and on about this to blow things out of proportion. i see myself as a sort of blog content advocate over the many other blogs this FAKER AND POSER has used to her benefit.

this is unethical blogmanship. if there's such thing.
