three things to love

1. this really cute lifevest

we bought arwen a pink (obviously, because she doesnt want any other colour) lifevest from mothercare a couple of months back seeing that we will be spending a lot of time in swimming pools. if only these were sold in KL, i'd grab the nemo one in a heartbeat!

2. faux cellotape hooks

i'd probably just let them hang on the inside of my wardrobe doors because my husband would hate it if i hang my jewelery all over our walls. but really cute design, nonetheless.

things i love : liese hair products

1. Bubble Hair Colour

From the moment i read that Liese Bubble Hair Color was gonna reach our shores months ago, i have been scouring Guardian and Watsons. when it finally came, i rushed to buy it and it was just in time for Raya and i desperately needed to colour my hair. I bought Marshmallow Brown. I was looking forward to mousse the foam in my hands and lather all over. it looked like a whole lotta fun. and it was heck a fun! plus, it smelled so fruity, unlike other DIY hairdye brands i've tried. I've been using Revlon prior to Liese, and now i'm sold. I'll be using Liese all the way. It's double the price of Revlon but it covers so evenly and the result can be seen as soon as i washed the foam away.

2. Hair Cocktail

Ok, i have this annoying scalp problem. dandruff. ugh. it's mostly because i'm working in an office that allows people to inconsiderately smoke openly in an air conditioned room. that's even more annoying than my scalp.it's so evident because when i'm away from the office for more than 3 hair wash sessions, i do not have scalp issues. so that's how i self-assess that the office environment as the root of my problem. pun intended. so, i have to wash my hair frequently because it smells so appalling and it sticks to my pillowcase, especially if i come home late from work and go straight to bed. frequent hair wash results to dry scalp, which leads to well, flaky and itchy scalp. and i have to, 3 out of 5 times, wash my hair with medicated shampoo that makes my hair really rough and unruly and bristly, like the underarm hair of a bear. aaa, got you visualizing a bear's armpits, didn't' i? the other 2 times, i'll be using another japanese hair product called armino ice mint shampoo with armino mint scalp lotion which are really expensive so that's why i only use it 2 in 5 shampooing session. i'm quite addicted to the mint scalp lotion because everytime i squirt the product on my hair, i get a bit high, a feeling akin to dipping my finger in chocolate sauce.

anyway, last sunday, i bought the plutonium/absinthe coloured hair serum concoction they call Hair Cocktail that marvelously smell of vanilla peach tea with a hint of cinnamon (oooh, that would make a really wonderful drink, wouldn't it?) and tried it. first try and i'm in love. after just 3 days of a putting on 3-4 drops every morning and night, my hair is now soft and shiny and my dandruff problem is evidently lessening.

i hope other people will love Liese products as much as i do because i don't want them to go away like Cover Girl did.

OMG!

Arwen recieved another birthday gift last night. from her Mo / Papana / Papamo. it was a couple of awesome, intricately designed collectible pop up books by Robert Sabuda. She now has Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan. which means that we're gonna have to invest in all the other books to complete the collection. We were all amazed by the books and Arwen even surprised us with "OH MY GODDDDD!!" and "WOW!" as i flipped the pages. yes, she said "OH MY GOD!". may i remind you that she's two?

the books are really that amazing and fragile, that i've decided to keep it till she's at least 7 before i give it to her, just like her first year and new year ABC creatures books, gifts from my brother. she has had popup books before. only they're not popping up anymore. they're more like 'pulping off'.

things i love

As promised, these are some of my favourite fonts that i currently love using for work and for my poster business. some, i use to death, some not so much but i love them just the same. the specimens i've made here are mostly for my own reference in case i want a quick view of the fonts i want to use rather than scrolling along the thousands of fonts in my font tab and my font book which takes a lot of time also just in case i want to find the font in other computers i'm working on. also, to show of. heh. the quotes used here are actually excerpts of some of my favorite lines in Jason Mraz's songs. so basically, my specimens here are a combination of both my obsessions, fonts and jason mraz. yay.
