So, cary & su’s wedding is finally over and done. Last 2nd was their nikah at su’s place in klang. Then the grand reception the next day. And the reception at the groom’s in semenyih last Saturday. Everything went well. Well except the fact that everyone got sick after that. Yeah, even the bride and groom. Even the family doctor, apparently. Not so auspicious huh? Not really a good start to their wedding.
But it was all fun. The bride and groom and the whole bas kilang full of entourage were about an hour late. We were all baking in the hot blazing sun. I was one of the usherettes. I don’t know why I was so gatal to bring along fazli’s Olympus. Suddenly im the usherette cum unofficial photographer. Running around in my silk pareo and kebaya taking pictures of everyone and everything.
Ever get that wholesome feeling when you’re surrounded by nice people even for just a few hours? I cant help feeling more part of the family in their (ayis and cary) family than my own. Im glad they’ve accepted me in so warmly. Everybody’s nice to me. Even the little kids. But what do little kids know anyway? Sam (ina’s one and a half year old kid) finally calls my by my name. Im Aunty Isha. Funny, that Sam. He sent us all in a fit watching him running away from his own shadow, crying.
Fast forward to the part where the bride and groom were unwrapping gifts. I sortta panicked a bit when I realized what I wrote on the gift card : “to the second cutest couple on the planet, from the first cutest couple on the planet. We want something better on our wedding”. Imagine the groom reading that aloud in front of the WHOLE family. Including ayis’s parents and sister. That’s almost like a public proposal and announcement. Ayis told cary not to read it out loud. But we learnt not to trust cary that much. So when su took our box .. ayis gave me the “YANG.. LARI!” cue and so we ran and hide. When we came back, kak long (ayis’ cousin) said “dah.. announcement dah buat, tinggal letak date je” I thought : ERRK.
Ever get that oh-shit feeling when you’ve just said something totally obtuse, which you initially thought was cool?
Lets just leave it at that.

hey, tengok gambar dorang pretty outstanding. but then i tengok gambar tuh, imagine you and ayis...lagi outstanding. especially ko. aku ingat ko kena pakai bengkung kuat kuat ar. MAUHAHAHHA. oh yeah, nanti ko kawin, try to have a photo session ko pakai those javanese style thingy. FUYOOO!! HAHAHH
