so, here's the first blog posting since i've officially become a bini. still can't believe that i am married. maybe because we're still living with my parents and brothers. and cats. so, it still feels like normal, only that i have to share my space with someone else.
sharing, now that's a lot of getting used to. for 20 years i get to hog the entire queen size bed and all the pillows, comforter and bolsters, but now, almost every night ... i have to push and shove and fight for equal sleeping space. i'm a give and take kinda person.. but when it comes to sleep, i can be a bitch.
but this post isn't about sleeping nor sharing. this post is gonna be about the wedding. both ayis and i are totally indebted to all who've helped make our special day happened. it was a beautiful wedding. both the solemnization at home, and the reception at night at villa pengantin. everything was more than what we expected it to be.
i know i can be difficult, stubborn and hot-headed at times ... i'm truly sorry if i've caused any disappointments, stress and pain towards anyone, but i genuinely appreciate all the time, effort and generosity that has been put into making this magical moment for me.
thanks to mama.. for her patience, her hard work, her tenacity, her creativity and the homemade cookies for the wedding favours, and for everything else. i love you, mama.
thanks to papa, for your patience and efforts. i love you too.
and to my brothers. that night couldn't have been beautiful without the video montage.. which i know was difficult to make given my bi-polar like temperament. but somehow iz, you've made it possible. kudos to you, kude. .. and falie ... that photos on the walls were such an overwhelming surprise.. they brought me to tears. they were all very beautiful.. and you are very very talented. im sorry for ever snapping at you and for being such a fucked-up sister. but you know i love you guys terribly. (i'll be you-tubing the video montage later on)
thanks to my husband (still feels weird saying that) for your patience and putting up with all the demands and chaos in making this wedding happen. the moment was mostly theirs, but the rest is ours.
and to everyone else who've helped. mona - our tenacious mini-mama floor manager, auntie ainy the wonderwoman, all the aunts, uncles and cousins, colleagues and friends. i owe you guys big time.
now i know why brides and their moms cry during weddings ... it's not because of the letting go part, but because of all the disagreements and arguments and hard work, all just come down to that beautiful moment that makes every hardship so worth it. ok, maybe it's also partly an early symptom of separation anxiety.
i can't believe that i actually got my black and white themed wedding i dreamed of having since 4-5 years ago. in a way, i defied convention. almost everyone warned me to be prepared facing all the comments and critiques regarding my unconventional colour (or lack thereof) choice. i did receive some harsh comments, but in the end, most of the people who did come to the wedding & reception were impressed and they generally loved the idea. the tokens and wedding favours were a hit. some even took the menu home as souvenirs. even my maid of honour and bestman's name place cards went missing. which i thought was weird but totally expected.
it took us more than a week to recover from the tiredness and finish all the cleaning up. but it's not really over, since the reception in pekan has to be postponed till the 9th of Feb, during the long CNY weekend, due to the impenetrable flood-washed routes into Pekan. everybody advises me to not have buns in the oven just yet.
how does it feel like to be a wife now? totally broke. but otherwise very happy.

more pictures will be posted on flickr soon, as i'm still in the midst of compiling and photoshopping gigabytes and gigabytes of wedding shots. these and half of the pictures were taken by my magikmen brothers. and the other half by my own bosses and colleagues (for free, btw) which is why i have to sit down and personally choose and edit and post and print and book them.
