current earworm - paolo nutini

falie and i recently discovered this brooding scottish-italian music wonder on tv the other day. his name is Paolo Nutini and i immediately fell in love with his song (candy, live session at wilton music hall), his voice, his guitar strumming, his face, his mysteriousness. and then i went on a crazed quest looking for all of his songs and then i've been blasting him on a loop. safe to say, he got me through the hellish night i had in the office last night. this is more love than i have for jason mraz. it is that good.

he looks young (and yummy), but his voice and style has this sexy old-soul vibe going on about him. his voice is really versatile. in one song, he sounds like bob dylan and the in a few other songs, he sounds like ben harper meet damien rice meet glen hansard meet eddie vedder meet michael stipe. what is it with the scotts and the irish? they're really, really inspiring singer-songwriters. and they're great writers. it's all that rain, i reckon.

love this post kak lisha! have always loved nutini. my NY resolution for year 2007 was to watch him perform live. heh that didn't happen. thank you for reminding me that i should really do it!
