Mama : Where's the mineral water bottle cap? Can someone, lepas isi air, the cap tu letak kat sink so senang cari? Siapa isi air tadi? (backstory: we have a water dispenser and only 2 big water bottles, so we keep filling them up with filtered water. we're green, like that)
Me : Ayis. Nevermind, i'll look for it. *cannot find* Yaaaaannnnggg! Tutup air tu mana?
Husband : You cari macam mana? Nanti kalau i jumpa ....?
Me : Of course lah you jumpa, you were the last person to have hold it.
Husband : *after a while* Ok. I cannot find it. Let me ask Arwen.
Me : Arwen? Why??
Husband : Arwen, come here. Tudung bottle tadi, daddy bukak, Arwen play taruk kat mana?
Arwen : Arwen taruk dalam fridge!
Husband : *taking her word for it, never minding my nagging of "takkan lah dia letak dalam fridge kot?"
Husband : Ok! Found it! in the fridge!
Mama : Arwen! Whyyyyylaaaaa you have to take after your Mo? (another backstory : when we were little, i always thought my brother had a gift, that he's able to locate and track stuff. i almost thought he was a psychic some sort. turns out, he's able to find stuff because he was the one who hid it)

Arwen : Mamma! Arwen nak joo!
Me : Jew?
Arwen : Joo! Yang ada animals tu?
Me : Oh! Zoo. It starts with a Zee sayang, not a Jay.
Arwen : Yes. Jee! Jee for Joo!
Husband : Anak kita pelat ke yang?
Me : No, anak you tak pelat. Anak you Jawa.
(but actually she's more Minang than Jawa. I am part Minang, Jawa & Bugis while my husband is Minang, Yunan and some Turk, i think)
