of being sick, being cheap, and being starstrucked.

arwen's doing okay. just coughing here and there, and blocked nose that's bothering our sleep for days but alas, no more fever, alhamdulillah. and thanks to friends and other mommy blogger friends who YMed asking me how she's doing. and also to those well wishes i've received in this blog.

father's day went by with nothing extraordinary thing planned. it was just a normal Sunday for us, except that i was pretty sick most of the weekend. wished Ayis a Happy Father's Day, nothing special about it, because he didn't even wished me a Happy Mother's Day. not that i don't appreciate what he's done, planting his seed, cleaning up my puke, waking up in the middle of the night, getting things for the baby when i asked him to and all that fatherly jazz. i am very appreciative. it's just that we're not that kind of a couple who'd be showering each other with presents and things on special days (with the exception of our wedding hantaran). never have been and probably never will be. and i'm okay with this. we're a very comfortable and simple couple - what's not to be okay about, right? ah fuck it. it's because we're CHEAP, alright?

on another random note, we went to KLIA last night to be amongst a tribe of 2 families to send off Ayis' cousin, Abang Ben and his family, to Boston. he managed to get into Harvard and will be staying there for about a year. the luckiest person in my mind would be the Orang Gaji, Ani who is following the family there.

so, whilst waiting for them to board at around 11 pm (yes, me and my mucus-ridden nose at the airport. lucky tak kena halau or anything), guess who came by to see the family off too? Shiela Majid and Acis. i remember my husband telling me that Abang Ben was friends with Acis before, but i never thought that they were really close buddies that he'd be there to see them off.

susah woh nak starstruck dalam diam. trying to compose myself, to avoid being seemingly poyo and kampung (like as if blogging and bragging about it isn't poyo or kampung enough already?), taking pictures and asking for autographs and whatnot. i think the flu med helped a lot because i wasn't really 'there' to begin with. luckily i didn't bring Arwen or the camera, or both together, because if not, i think i'd get Shiela Majid to hold my baby while i go take pictures of them. but in the end, i got to salam with Shiela & Acis, yo!
